The Fourth International Conference of the German Cognitive Linguistics Association has officially ended. The Conference Committee and the Governing Board of the GCLA thank all speakers, participants and University of Bremen staff members and student assistants who have contributed to making the conference a success in the tradition of the conferences in Hamburg, Munich and Leipzig. The conference website will be shut down at the end of October. The website of the DGKL/GCLA will be found at www.dgkl-gcla.de in the future.
The general assembly of the DGKL/GCLA has elected Anatol Stefanowitsch as the association's new president. In addition, Juliana Goschler and Constanze Juchem were newly elected to the governing board, replacing Doris Schönefeld and Klaus-Uwe Panther, who are leaving the board after two and three election periods respectively. The Fifth International Conference of the German Cognitive Linguistics Association will be organized by Martin Hilpert in Freiburg in 2012.
We provide WLAN (“Wi-Fi”) access to the internet to all conference participants who own a notebook computer or similar device. You will receive an individual user name and password when you register on-site. We also offer internet access via eduroam.
Conference participants arriving by car or by train should be aware of the following potential traffic problems. There is a high risk of traffic jams on the federal highway A1 between Hamburg and Bremen due to extensive construction work, and train connections from the South (Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Koblenz) often arrive in Bremen 30 to 40 Minutes late. If you are aware of additional traffic problems, please let us know and we will pass on the information.
Conference participants from outside the European Union, whose banks charge high transfer fees, can pay cash at the registration desk when they arrive in Bremen. Please contact the conference committee by email to discuss this option.
