The Conference
The German Cognitive Linguistics Association was founded in 2004 at an inaugural conference at the Universität Hamburg. Its aim is to encourage cognitive-functional linguistics in Germany and to organize a bi-annual conference as a platform for the exchange of ideas between researchers from different paradigms in Germany and between the German and the international research communities. The second conference was held at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich in 2006 and the third at the Universität Leipzig.
The Fourth International Conference of the German Cognitive Linguistics Association at the Universität Bremen continues this tradition. Researchers from all over the world will meet for three days in October 2010 to present their current research from all research areas within the cognitive-functional paradigm or to offer perspectives on language and cognition from related disciplines, such as psychology, psycholinguistics and artificial intelligence.
The Conference Committee is looking forward to welcoming you at the University of Bremen, one of Germany’s top research universities in the cognitive sciences.
